SMMPCL is keen in developing the technical and management skills of all its employees, producers, and other stake holders. A lot of on the job and off job training are conducted by SMMCPL for the skill development of its employees

Leadership Development Program

The organization is also the end implementing agency for various Sub Project Plans (SPP) implemented by Government of India under National Dairy Plan 1 (NDP-1) through NDDB and NDDB Dairy Services which is funded by the World Bank. Under these projects, SMMPCL is also conducting field level training programs for the Milk Producers, Village Youth and School Children on the clean milk production, Improved Dairy Management Practices, and importance of Dairying.

Training Programs – PIB

SMMPCL is also running various micro training centers – Model farms across the two procurement districts, viz. Chittoor and Anantapur. These training centers facilitate the hands on training on various dairying aspects like balanced feed for dairy animals, Improved breeding practices, silage making, fodder cultivation, farm management etc.

Producer Awareness Programme

Milk producers are the main stake holders of the Company. It is imperative that they should be updated and facilitated to understand the policies and programmes that are under operations in the Company. With this backdrop A Producer Awareness Programme is conducted in the operational area from inception. A reputed NGO is given the contract for its effective execution of the programme. 96,364 milk producers have taken the benefits of the programme since inception.

Youth Awareness Programme

It is seen that a major chunk of educated youth in rural areas are unemployed and are forced to migrate to the metros in search of jobs and finally land themselves in dismal situation. Shreeja has analysed the said scenario and in view of “Dairying” being the secondary occupation after the agriculture which has brought a very noticeable socio economic change amongst our rural populace, an Awareness programme on the Dairying for such unemployed youth was thought off. PIB has designed an informative module covering all the aspects of dairying and is successfully executing the same for the selected youths. 2930 youngsters were trained during the last two years.

School Children Programme

By and large it is seen that the school children are not aware of the importance of the milk in meeting their nutrition deficiency and the awareness on choosing of the best and healthy milk and milk products. At the same time it is thought that if they are updated on these aspects needless to say the same information will be passed on to their parents and the family members. It is with this thinking the Rural School Children programme are being conducted for the children of 8th and 9th std. An attractive and children friendly PPT with some interesting videos are used in the programmes. We have taken up the programme in 1048 rural higher secondary schools covering around 4193 children.
